All of our Shungite is 100% genuine and authentic Karelian Shungite and our shaped pieces are made of standard (regular) Shungite which is the only kind that can be used for polishing and shaping as the other kinds are too brittle.
Standard (aka Regular) Shungite is commonly used for EMF protection and shielding the aura. The shape of the cube allows its energy to emit equally in a cubic shape, in all directions, making it the perfect shape for gridding the home!

Due to the high carbon content in Shungite, it has a high content of naturally existing C60 Fullerenes. The scientists that discovered C60 won Nobel peace prizes for their findings. C60 fullerene cells themselves, also known as "Buckyballs" are powerful antioxidants that act like a magnet to toxins, free radicals, and other harmful pollutants and break down the cell walls and neutralise them.

Due to the cube's shape being perfectly square, it emits the energy in a cubic shape which fills a cubic shaped room very effectively.
From a scientific point of view, according to Bioenergist and Geobiologist, Regina Martino, "Cubes are in resonance with the Earth and first chakra, which reinforces Shungite's action of rootedness". This makes a Shungite cube an excellent Crystal to meditate with if you need grounding and connection to Earth.
Martino states that according to her scientific findings, a 6cm Cube will emit energy to a distance of 2.9 meters.

Handling Shungite may leave residue of Carbon which is easily washed off. All Standard Shungite is 25-75% Carbon depending on the piece, and have inclusions and impurities such as traces of Pyrite and other minerals which is why it is not used for water filtration. These inclusions can show physically in appearance on the Crystal and therefore each piece differs slightly in appearance and can have some streaks and lines showing up o nthe surface, which is perfectly normal and should be expected for standard Shungite.
